Education

A Parks Charitable Trust could generate more income by enhancing learning resources about the ecological value of parks and charge groups who use the park for educational reasons.

This could improve the quality of educational opportunities that parks provide and help raise money for the Parks Charitable Trust.

How do you feel about this?

How would you improve this or do it differently?

Share your ideas and opinions to shape the future of our parks!

"Education activities are a good idea but no charge should be implemented. Educational use of parks is very important but need to be done properly and this will cost. Trust would need to make access to parks easy and safe, and make links with exams or inspections (eg. Ofsted). An educational advisor might be needed to create two-way relationship with learning institutions." — Workshop Team Two

"Educational activities should be offered free to the public. Charging for educational activities would be short-sighted. A charity could, however, apply for funds to deliver such activities." —Workshop Team Three

This might well be a place where commercial sponsorship would work both to support the production of resources and to keep the costs to schools low; ditto health hubs.

Look at the success of projects like Ouseburn farm and Seven Stories. The cities learning attractions and museums like the centre for life and Hancock are thriving. I'm sure partnerships with these types or industry would work in an outdoor setting. HOW CAN 7% OF PEOPLE BE AGAINST EDUCATING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH PARK SPACE!!!!

"A Parks Charitable Trust could generate more income by enhancing learning resources about the ecological value of parks", perhaps the councilors that have neglected to priorities the parks could attend.

Local schools should play an important role here. Project based learning around wildlife, health and well being outside, conservation, gardening, etc.

Anything that generates revenue within reason should be tried. Education may generate revenue and is something which should be encouraged for its own sake. So, yes, go for this.
